CAI

Sometimes at a certain heavy or light throttle your intake will make a slight wistle... I had mine for a month now and it just started wistleing under very like throttle and very heavy throttle...I can only hear it when the window is open though

My car did that when I had the stock airbox and it still does it now that I have a pop charger... I always thought it sounded kinda cool, the air that was being sucked in...

Check the clamps

Check all your hose-clamps/joints for proper tightness - if it's not that, then it's probably normal with your CAI.

Btw, is it a new problem? Ie: you had the CAI installed and it wasn't making this noise after the install, but now it is?

-or did you ALWAYS notice this noise after the CAI install?

Either way, I'd say you have your answer. . .

If it a high pitched whine, it may be the alternator bearing.

Yeah I have a high pitch whinning sound coming from my car and its the alternator going bad. I haven't gotten a chance to fix it yet tho, but i think it might be that problem as well.

If you hear it inside your car it could be noise from your speakers. Inproper ground wire can cause a high pitched sound.

same noise

I've had the same noise for the past 60k mi. It sounds like a jet engine whine. I only hear it at around speeds of 70-90mph with mild light throttle. I always thought it sounded cool and the mechanics never seem to think anything is wrong with my car, so I just enjoy it now. Sounds like a turbine engine.

I have a high pitched whine that changes pitch with the engine speed. At first I thought it was alternator whine coming through the speakers until I noticed it was coming from the engine. I can only hear it at idle and low speeds, at higher speeds I can't hear it over the road noise. I recently changed the belts and I started the car with the belts off -- no noise. Will this eventually fail? How can I be sure it is the alternator? Does the entire alternator have to be replaced? How much $$$?

im pritty certean that its the wind going through the foglight and out the back flap that you had to pull down to put the CAI filter in. When you break that seal to pull out that plastic flap thing it truly never goes back in the same way and ull see lil gaps here and there, im guessin its that, cuz mine will have that slight whistle whether im accelerating or not
