Hella FF75 Fog Lights - Need advice installing

I am considering buying the "HELLA FF75" fog lamps for my 97 GLE. I need some advice installing these. Is there existing wiring on the 97 GLE for fog lamps? Mine did not come with fog lamps installed. Has anyone installed one of these Hella fog lights? Is there anything else I should know before investing/installing these?

Your car is prewired. But it depends on whether you want to use that wiring for the aftermarket foglamp unit.

Hello there,
Before you are considering buying them, just take a look at this site and I think that you'll change your mind .... will go with Micro DE ones and IMO, I think Micro DE units are the best of all (look at the light it emmit in front of the vehicle). Hope this could helps. Warm Regards.

Where is the prewiring located and can I use it instead of the wiring that comes with the aftermarket fog lights?

It would require you buy a factory turn signal stalk, and a relay. THe connectors for the factory foglamps should be located in the bumper cover. They are most probably taped to the harness inside with grey electrical tape. You can cut the connector off and splice into the back of the Hella foglamp using your own connectors or you can try and go to a junkyard and find a car with fogs and cut them off. Once you join the Hellas withe factory wiring in your bumper, you'll swap out the stock turn signal stalk for the one that has a built on rotary foglamp switch. Finally, you can plug in your relay and a fuse if necessary and enjoy the added light.
