Anyone have any good references for a place in the Los Angeles area to do this

The check engine light comes on and that is what the computer diagnostics said is the problem
They want over one thousand to fix this
Wow!! Over a thousand to replace them?? I believe they cost $75 for the 2 front sensors and a little more for the rear sensor. Maybe buy the parts yourself and try to install them too, or have someone other than a dealer do the work for you. That is way over priced I think.
Way overpriced is right!
I had an oxygen sensor replaced at my Nissan dealer for 150.00 including the sensor (for one sensor, that is).
If I'm not mistaken 2 * 150.00 = 300.00
Now, for the knock sensor. Somewhere on this board someone mentioned that the knock sensor replacement is described as requiring the removal of the upper intake plenum to get to the knock sensor. This sounds like what the dealer is quoting a huge chunk of money for.
It was also mentioned in this post about the knock sensor that someone with the right tool (a ratcheting wrench of the correct size) and steady hands to reach down under there and remove and reinstall the knock sensor (don't know the price of the knock sensor) without removing the upper intake plenum (intake manifold).
I believe I would pursue someone who knows what there doing, and be careful with your money.
*** I had to come back to this post with an additional thought. Someone else more knowledgeable on the .org might address this. Couldn't the Knock Sensor ECU code have been caused by the oxygen sensor problem itself?
Wouldn't it be a good idea to replace oxygen sensors and then reset the ECU and see if the knock sensor Code still comes on? *******

Actually the front O2 sensors from Courtesy cost around $120 each (at least that's how much I paid). The rear is cheaper, around $100 or so I think.

Part No. 22690-40U05 and 22690-40U15
Dunno about Courtesy.
Kaiser... Reset your ECM's MIL light... If it doesn't come back on after resetting then no worries... It's worth a try... Check FAQ thread for instructions.

22690-00009 and 22690-00008
Price is 117 each. If I had known that you can get equivalent parts for less, I would have purchased the other parts.

Can someone explain me if this is dangerous not to replace. The check engine light remains on and that is how I found out about this
What are these O2 and knock sensors

Just to update what is going on with my car.
After I replaced the O2 sensors, the ecu was reset and the check engine light came on. I was busy for awhile and did not have time to go to the dealer to have it check the computer codes until know. They ran the diagnoses and told me the codes now say to replace thse same 02 sensors, the knock sensor and now the electrical wire harness (costs $3,000) because there is an open wire.
I took it back to a mechanic who said he ran the diagmoses for 1.5 days and that the code said replace the same 2 02 sensors and the knock sensor but the dealer was crazy about the wire harness.
We first replaced the knock sensor. the check engine light initially disappeared and they test drove the car a few miles and when they returned to the shop the light came back on. they ran the diagnoses and the code said the same 2 o2 sensors were bad.
They replaced the same O2 sensors (Napa) with 2 new Bosch 02 sensors. they light disappeared and they test drove the car. everything ok.
I go to pick up the car today, start the car and the check engine light comes on. they run the diagnoses and the code says the same o2 sensors are bad.
What's going on?
Can it really be a wire harness problem?
Shoud they replace the 2 O2 sensors (Bosch) with Nissan O2 sensors.

I doubt very seriously that 2 different sets of sensors would go bad like that or even been defective. I believe you probably have a short in the harness somewhere. The dealer doesn't want to trace the problem as it would probably take a good while.

If you could find another deal like that you could try replacing the one on your car with the used harness, but I suppose you would want to run ohmmeter continuity tests on all of the wiring before trying to put it on.
What about just continuity tests on the actual oxygen sensor and knock sensor wiring?
Just a thought.
