i was wondering....i have a 96 se, that is dark green, i have the black trim around the windows, i was planning on taking the vynl off of the pilars, but i dont think it would look that great without the chrome trim, is there any way to put the chrome trim from an gxe/gle on an se model? and would it be very difficult? because i know my friend has a gxe that he is trying to make look like an se, and i have an se that i am trying to make look like a gle (it basically is a 5 speed gle anyways, other than the chrome trim/door handles)

so is this not a 99 mod?? there's only one other 99 driver in this thread and theyve said that there is only carbon there and no tape, and mine is like that too. the CF pillar is starting to rust a bit and looks like crap. i want to try this but dont know if any other 99s have?

i would try this but on my drivers side the vinyl has a thin scratch all the way down it. I'm just scared to pull it off and find the paint scratched underneath it..

okay so i did this mod, but didn't heat up the vinyl until it was practically melting off. now i have the vinyl gone, but a significant amount of glue still left on the pillars. goo gone has no effect.

does anyone have any idea how to get rid of the glue?

I started to peel mine but it looked black underneath instead of dark green so I stopped. Guess I will look again.

I used a heat gun very very carefully. you have to get the vinyl hot. I then used RS500 to remove the glue. then I taped everything up and painted the black back on with black "Trim Paint" looks like new and will not fade for a long long time.
BTW I think the black looks better with tinted windows. Alot better on a dark colored car

So lame... I removed the 2 passenger vinyls and the driver vinyle, and then when i was about to remove the driver-side passenger vinyle...I Found out it was PAINTED BLACK!

Ugh...

Does this mean the previous owner replaced the door?
