Sources for "A/C Kit" w/ condenser

I'll be examining the dysfunctional, abusive relationship this 120k mile car has over my family in a later post. Until then: it runs great, and I'd drive it every day - but it needs A/C work. Gotta have A/C in Houston.

The shop quoted an "A/C Kit" (Compressor, condenser, expansion valve, seals & oils) @ $730.00. I asked them what brand it is and expect to hear back soon.

I can't see doing this job without also replacing the flexible high and low side lines attached to the compressor as well - but the low side line #92480, is "DISCONTINUED". What to do (besides not replace either, or only replace the one and not the other)?

Re: "The Kit" - besides "the brand the shop can get" (whatever that ends up being) - what other options are out there?

I see WallyWorld:

I see BuyAutoParts @ $423.00...have to add the condenser @ $98.17 to match the shop's components ($521 total), they also sell a high side discharge line for $73.17 (still no low side):

https://www.buyautoparts.com/buynow/...N?xref=1261400
https://www.buyautoparts.com/buynow/..._N?xref=405398

I see OEM @ an IN-SANE price; the quote below (infinitipartsdeal.com) includes the high side discharge line, but not oil or expansion valve or seals:

I know that your local parts retailer (Advance, Auto Zone, O'Reilly's) sells compressors that include a LLT warranty if you also purchase additional parts like the condenser and TXV.

IIRC those compressors are at least 1/2 (likely more) the price of the one you've got in that cart, plus you can likely use a discount code or coupon ... here's an example:

https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...ac+compressors

For me the LLT is a no-brainer, a must-have and sends me away from the OE, which typically includes a 3 mo. to 1 year warranty.

As far as the lines go ... look at Infiniti parts suppliers. I know for a fact that the high side hard line (the line between the dryer and evaporator) is NLA from Nissan suppliers but is still available from Infiniti ... I bought one just 2 months ago.

Perhaps the information I'm really after includes "who are the OEM suppliers for the various components?", along with "what are the ancillary seals/oils to buy as one assembles one's own kit?

example: compressor = "Calsonic"

I did a google search for "manufacturers of automotive air conditioning replacement parts" and got hits. I looked at some of them and liked this one - https://www.discountacparts.com/ .

Since you didn't specify what year your car is, I used 1997 and checked for the hoses and they have both of them. They also have a compressor kit - https://www.discountacparts.com/buyn...it/60-82277_RK

The 1995 & 1996 is one kit and the 1997 to 1999 is another kit.

No doubt that the parts are not the brand Nissan used, but I don't think that is worth any concern.
