Are you talking about the valve itself or the tube that goes from the valve to the intake? It was always the tube I had to clean out. (Code P0400)

Wow ! Over $50 !

Or, should I say, only $50 ! How much time is involved with just replacing the tube vs cleaning the old one ?

A gallon of carb cleaner runs between $30 to $35. I've soaked the tube and other components for a few days to get them completely cleaned up. I think its a toss up on time vs. cost.

95 ecu i changed my 96 to a 95 .no cel

No only does it turn off the cel. it removes all EGR components, just buy a plug for $5.00 . Also those egr pipes not only clog the tubes up they fill the Intake manifold with soot

I've soaked the tube in carb cleaner overnight.
I made a container out of aluminum foil just large enough to place the tube into. It will require only one pint or quart of carb cleaner.

Then I started poking various tool's it the passage like screwdrivers, steel and copper cable, etc.
This process takes some time, but saves the 50 dollars.

be sure to clean out the passage under the egr.

Any instructions on how to remove that tube? I believe that may be the cause of my problems as well I have a P0400 code and am in CA with a smog due later this year. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

240sx block off plate modified to fit the UIM (will need longer bolts), remove EGR temp sensor from tube, remove tube from rear exhaust manifold, plug rear exhaust manifold with 6th gen block off plug, leave EGRC solenoid hooked up, leave EGR temp sensor tangling near the block/rear exhaust manifold.

Easy Off Oven Cleaner is what I used to clean out my EGR tube. It works very well. You can get it at the dollar store.
