Synthetic manual tranny fluid??

When I first drive my max and it is cold out the 5sp is really sticky and clunky, I was thinking maybe if I switched to a synthetic(which are supposed to hold up better in the cold) it wouldn't be so bad. Anyone else done this? Also, will synthetic engine oil improve cold starts (not make it sound like its working so hard to start)

It definantly helps the tranny. Find it hard to get into first? I did mine before winter but others on this forum had that problem and it wored great. Plus it makes shifting in general pretty smooth.

Ok, who makes good stuff?

I've seen that redline makes a manual tranny fluid, but its hard to get that stuff, how about mobil1? Their website only shows auto tranny fluid... What could I use that I could get at an autoparts store?

I personally went with Redline. True it is a bit harder to get but so nice when you do. I have not tried Mobile before or anything but if you can find the redline go for it. If worse comes to worse you can order it at their website. Oh actually at their site you can also see a list of sellers. Maybe one in your area.
