alternator and electerical problems

Hey,
I have been having very frustrating issues with my 4th Gen. The alternator died and when i replaced it I was still having issues. The car doesnt stay running now after I jump it. Got a new battery still has issues. The connector that bolts to the alternator looks burnt now. Anyone have any advice. Would replacing both the wire harness and the positive cable going to the alternator alleviate these issues.

I would replace the burnt out wire, it could have burned out if the wire were not on securely, which causes high amperage and heat, hence the burning out of the wire. Something could have also shorted causing it overheat and burn.. Could be many issues, check all grounds and make sure they all sanded down and secured to vehicle chassy. Make sure your + and - wires are on accordingly, if the alternator failed you should be able to take it back for a warranty replacement. if the car won't stay running then there is an issue with the alternator, you can also check and make sure the battery is getting 14 volts with the car running if you have Volt meter.

Fixed the issue. I bought a new nut that screws to the terminal on the alternator. It is now tight and the car runs and drives normally. Those nuts that come with the Ultima reman units are complete garbage. Those took two alternators and 2 batteries with them..
