Strut bearings look to be straining or shot.

Strut Mounts also collapse and let metal parts get close enough to rub/grind when turning the wheel. That's what happened with my Moog replacement assemblies.... Garbage. And the spring Insulators all split.

These Maximas also came with spring insulators. Tubing at the ends of the springs where the springs meet metal and bushings. They wear out and your front end gets really noisy.

When it comes to strut assemblies on the 4th Gens, a lot of old timers have found that Nissan OEM parts last the longest. Except the struts themselves which are too expensive. CS_AR and I both use Koni Orange STR-Ts with excellent results. And Thick walled heat shrink tubing for Spring Insulators. The rest Nissan OEM. What a difference.
