FINALLY got my Berk!

........25 days after I ordered it! I finally got my berk intake, and even though I am alittle pissed that it took so long, I gotta admit.....IT WAS WORTH IT!!!

The sound from it is incredable!! I can finally, truly appreciate the sound of acceleration!!

Whether or not you actually get HP gains from it, the sound alone was definetly worth it!

Thanks Bryan (cobymoby right?)

Was the delay due to back ordered parts?

Yeah, originally it was only supposed to have been one week back ordered.......then that slowly but surely became 3 weeks.

For everyone else that ordered during this time, hang in there, its coming!!

There goes more gas money down the drain...

Don't worry, its normal... everyone who gets one of those gets 10 mpg the first week they install it, shifting at 6600 rpms just to hear it....

Good to hear that your patience paid off, now post some pics of it, or even better, sound clips...

Did you disconnect your battery to reset your computer?

I'll post pics soon, it was pretty straightforward to install without instructions, did other people get instructions with their intake? I basically went off of pics I saw on here. Everything was easy except getting those damn couplers on the aircone attachment, that was a pain in the a$$!!

I didnt unplug my battery, I actually forgot to. But I didnt disconnect the wires from that center pipe with the sensor on it. Also, my theory on why the check engine light may be coming on with some cars is because the intake came pretty dirty on the inside, even the couplers had some dust. It wasnt obviously dirty, but I stuck in a white terry cloth, gave it a few passes, and it was definetly dirty. I figure this debris, even though small, would be enough to cause some kind of malfunctions since its pasted the filter, everything will go onto the sensor, or the engine itself.

Hope this helps,

PS- kenttz, I think that was my SL you saw!! I have actually only seen one other 6th gen in pasadena, but no blue. Mine has the E&G Grill too. Never hesitate to say HI! Oh, and you can catch my Max pretty much every other night at that LA Fitness parking lot on Lake and Cordova.

WTF Coby is still sending stuff out that is dirty????!!!!!!
I warned him about that problem that there are burrs inside that need to be removed. That 6-7 months ago....

I hate to say it but QC with berk sucks sometimes. Bryan is pretty good about emailing stuff back and forth but I don't think he cares too much about quality sometimes....

Overall i think he provides good value for the $$$ but please realize that you may need to clean the parts he sends because his fab guys don't.

MO,
I'm surprised to hear that you got no instructions with your kit. Bryan used my car for the pics on the instruction manual during install. Oh well, it is a pretty easy swap and it sounds like you handled it fine...
Here's a pic of mine just for the heck of it:

Yea, I was actually surprised too. All the papers that came with it were in chinese or something.

Which reminds me, how do you clean the apexi filter? All the writing on the box was also in chinese, including all the cool technical graphs and data!

Anyone else here know what to do with the Apexi?

The Apexi cannot be cleaned like the K&N filters. it should last you for 30k miles so...not too bad of a trade off.

How exactly can someone say "it will last 30,000 miles"?
30K before it's too dirty?
30K before it falls apart?
30K for someone who drives only highway?
30K for someone that lives on a dirt road?

What are the assumptions when making a claim like that?

Nissan says 30k for the drop in filter just like any maintanence, if you drive hard in dirty conditions, replace sooner. if you drive easy in cleaner conditions, it'll last longer.
some like the best like "Premium Service" and replace sooner.

Without knowing the assumptions, there's no reason at all to quote a number.
"It will last as long as it's clean and flowing air" is more like it
