Transmission Problems

I have a 1996 Maxima. I had a motor and transmission put in it out car that was my daily driver. Now when I drive it, it has a very harsh 1-2 shift. The 2-3 shift isn't that bad. It doesn't make a 3-4 shift. if you go from a dead start to about 60 it takes off good. when you lift off the accelerator RPMs drop like it's in neutral. If you push OD button on shift lever, you can feel a definite down shift. I have swapped the trans controller from donor car too. I'm sure it is an electrical issue but I have no access to wiring diagrams. Can anyone tell me where I should start looking and where I should check for power to transmission solenoids.

Check the fluid, my 4th gen shifted hard in 1 to 2 and I checked the fluid it was too high. Shift Solenoids can also cause this. Checked fluid first, then check power to solenoids. I doubt its the shift sol. though. Do you know that the trans and egine where fine out of the donor?

Is the drop resistor good or plugged in? It is located on the driver side shock tower, right behind the air box.
