Yes I used a six sided 10mm flare nut wrench, then vise grip pliers. Not budging and the nut is entirely rounded.

Nissan discontinued the 46285-1L000 left rear steel brake line.

Both rear calipers are frozen despite being replaced with Centric rebuilts 4 or 5 years ago. Also want to change the hose with the new Goodridge SS hose since the other 3 are all now done!

NOW WHAT?

Anybody get tortured like this and how did you solve it?

Nissan should have the nut even though it was discontinued. Nissan has classic car parts but the maxima is sadly not a classic oddly as Nissan would not care for the flagship car that help put Nissan on the map. The other option is you can call Nissan consumers and tell them this is a critical oem part that you need and it`s discontinued. The other option would be the junk yard or the home depot and some other home approvements store for a brake line nut.

I took a Mapp gas torch to it and was able to get it to turn finally after heating the threaded brake line end. Cleaned the threads on the compression fitting and used anti seize compound on the threads of the SS hose. Was a PITA to get threaded finally and had to tighten it with Needle nosed vise grips. Not Leaking thankfully!

Nothing like working at night when things go wrong. (Always with my Maxima.)

Down here cars don’t experience much rust but they do get “jacked” fairly frequently.
