Map light bulb

Does anyone know where I could find the map light bulb bright enough to match the OEM one? All I could find about the bulb in the manual was that it's 12V 10W, so I got one from Auto Zone, but it's not even half as bright as the original one.

when i got my 98 the light didnt work, i ran around looking for it. autozone wasnt helpful to me at all. I finally ended up at the nissan dealership to get it. So im not sure the differences in your brightness. but for me its pretty bright. I think it cost lik3 $3 or something.

The map light in the I30 (1996) is number 1895. I am trying to find one that is pure white to match the dome light that I changed out to pure white. I saw a website once that had bulbs that replace the 1895 bulbd that were LED's. They had a large range of colors and everything. I will try and find this site for you and post it in here.

Hope this helped?

CustomMaxima.com has all the interior bulbs you need (plus more), but they're Polarg Hypers, which are a purer white with a hint of blue. They're also a bit more expensive. If you want a duplicate of the factory bulb that burned out, I agree with Negativezero - hit the dealership. Surely they couldn't rip you off TOO badly over a single interior bulb.

I picked them up at PepBoys believ it or not. I can check to see what kind they are and will post on here once I find out. I think I still have the package in the trunk of the car. the light is pure white! I am still trying to find pure white bulbs for the visor mirrors as well as this map light. I can't seem to find them anywhere in town. Maybe on line though.

What bulb, exactly? You seemed to imply that a specific bulb has been discussed shortly before your post, but I see no indication of that.

If you just want a replacement bulb, then:

10w:
26232-F1100, $2.37 each at Courtesy

8w:
26282-5L300, $3.10 each at Courtesy

Is that one of the bulbs next to it, or is that a shell casing?

^ That's for the dome buddy, we're talking about the map, the one for the front passenger and driver.
But like I said earlier, I posted in the wrong thread by mistake...
