replaced clock spring, horn honks when turning right...

as stated, it was honking all the time, even just driving straight down the road randomly. was driving me nuts, i have yet to see if the cruise control works yet, but the one thing it still does is honk on a sharp right turn, what is causing this? metal plate for horn or possibly ground? i have read somewhere that the wires can get twisted causing this issue as well? any help here would be appreciated, thanks

Check the four plastic inserts that keep the contacts floating apart until pressed. These plastic parts are starting to fatigue, break, disintegrate, and this is result.

Where did you get a new clockspring? Mine is shot, but I didn't feel like shelling out $300+ for a new one. For now I have interrupted my horn relay with a toggle switch because the horn is pretty much stuck on at all times.

If it's only when turning right, it's likely the clock spring and not the plastic pieces, but since I have this photo handy, here are two good and two broken / missing / disintegrated plastic spacers for reference.

I believe we have already been through this. Have you taken off the airbag to inspect the condition of the four plastic inserts? Seems like you have as it appears you've somewhat recently replaced the clockspring? Is that correct?

when it was apart, they weren't looked at. forgot about them i guess. part of the reason for replacing was no cruise control either, not that i care about that very much, air bag lite was going on and off. it's off now.

so, the clock spring fixed basically nothing. horns still honk at random, cruise doesn't work, air bag light is off and that's all. damnit

Nissan doesn't sell the plastic piece that should fix the horn problem. The best bet is a used or junk yard steering wheel
Nissan also discontinued the steering wheel itself. The junk yard steering wheel will fix this problem. The horns honking from the continuity of the metal contact that the air bag and the contact plates are on the steering wheel touching at all times making contact.
