Spoke to PR about CAI filter

Ok, spoke to a guy from Place today. When I asked the guy what the deal was with the new filter he said "Oh you got the good filter?" He said the fins in the filter help it take in more air. He said this results in approx. 4 more hp vs. K&N filter, which he says he has dyno charts to prove. Also the filter is cleanable and reusable just like the K&N's. They started using these new filters 2 weeks ago he told me. So I guess in short we supposedly got better filters on ours.....I guess once its on we will see. I will need to see this to believe it, because we all know that PR is a profit-oriented business and businesses are all about the bottom line. Is this a cost cutting maneuver disguised as an improvement? hmmmmmm......Going to go install momentarily.

I'd be pretty skeptical about someone saying you could get 4hp from any kind of filter let alone 4 additional HP over a K&N. Unless you're running compessed air you're just not going to need that much air. The stock filter isn't that restrictive if its clean and your engine isn't modded. The nicest thing about K&N or other filters is that they are cleanable. IMHO.

CAI

The filter is made by monsterflow and yes i too am skeptical about an additional 4hp over a KN, but nonetheless it performs well. The monsterflow is also washable and reusable like the KN is.
