Airbag compatibility

I have a 95 maxima but finding the passenger side airbag for it is difficult to get ahold of I see 97-98's all the time but not to often do I come across a 95 but what I'm asking is if I get. 97-98's pass airbag would it mount and plug into my 95
but a nissan parts guy told me a 96 pass airbag wouldn't fit due to it being a gxe and I having a se ?? Dose trim really effect airbag fitment??

I have never heard or seen anyone who has done interior swaps with air bag issues.

I have swapped a 97 dash and air bag into a 96 with no issue.

But even without swaping the dash? Like just the airbag would mounting it in a 95 dash be any different from its original

It should be the same but can't say 100% sure because Nissan makes running changes.

I have pulled apart and/or stripped every other year, just not a 95.

It's been a couple days

It's been a couple days but pushing to get my max ready for smoge so have a couple more things I need does anyone know if the build date of a car (ex: to 8/94 or thru 9/94) really matters for the airbags?? Does it change the plugs or mounting??
I'm mainly asking in relations to the passenger airbag my 95 max has a build date of 4/95

And help is greatly appreciated

It would be the difference between a 3rd gen and 4th gen.

95 96 air bag plugs are the same, they switched the plug/wiring 97+.
