When I replace any exhaust part, I am going to replace the whole thing. I have already decided to go with the Jet-Hot coated y-pipe because of the warrenty. I want a Random Technology Cat because of the results. I'm unsure from there however. Do I get a greddy cat-back? Or how about the stillen b-pipe and the apexi n-1 universal muffler? I'm mostly concerned with power and durability, not sound or anything like that.

I thought Cattman was phasing out his jethot y-pipes in favor of the SS ones. Anyone else heard the same? As far as the rest of the exhaust goes, I don't think you'd gain too much with a catback. But if I was to get one, I would prolly go with a Courtesy B-pipe along with a 2k Max muffler. Stillen's B-pipe doesn't have a resonator btw, so that could be awfully loud, even if you aren't concerned about sound. I'm not a big fan of the loud, droning exhaust. Or possibly the Apex'i World Series exhaust, depending on how it looks and sounds. I haven't had the chance to check one out in person yet. In any case, it seems like it would be a good idea to get solid flanges welded onto the RT cat as opposed to the rotating ones they come with. Check out Greg's web site for more info on that.

a. the jet hot has been discontinued, so unless you can find one floating around, most folks would rather pay extra for the cattman ss pipe than deal with the bs at stillen.
b. rt cat is good. lotsa folks say go with upgraded ball and socket style flanges for better seal makes big difference.
c. cat back gives the least gain in performance, so like it or not, shop for looks and sound. Most folks say stillen is annoying sound, greddy sorta loud but nice, hks nice but only muffler. New alternative is apex world series, no report yet, but should be quiet and good build, but some report availability prob.
d. no real need to replace it all at once. You will net 70 percent of your gain with just the y and many people with the performance mufflers end up trading them back in for the stock. Hope this helps. Also try search function as this topic comes up all the time.

Why has the jethot y-pipe been discontinued? Will the stainless steel one hold up as well? Also, if I went with the Stillen b-pipe, what are my options for mufflers?
Thanks

Because compared to the Stainless, the jethot is an inferior product. The Stainless will probably last longer than your car.

Unless all you want is sound or are supercharged, a "performance" muffler in a max yeilds no performance at all. Again try the search function... this has been talked about a lot.
