thank you Maxima for 27 years of service

27 years ago May I picked up my new 95 Maxima from Torrance Nissan in socal.
and a couple weeks ago I retired it from service. not sure if selling yet.
Mechanically and mostly visually it is still 100% ., 115K miles always garaged. but I wanted something with modern conveniences
so got an 23 G70 AWD 3.3TT
Max

.
and the replacement with the max visible now living outside but now under a cover.

was a daily driver but never had long commutes. mostly in the 2-8 mile range and had other cars at times.
for instance the new Genesis has all of 300 miles on the ODO after 3 weeks of use and it came with 28
edit: just now noticed I had 20 years of membership here this year. wow.

Beautiful cars. That's some upgrade in horsepower: 190 to 365. How's that been? Did you consider buying the modern Maxima or other models? I hear turbos can be hard on the oil, so make sure you change on time.

Did you think about buying a camper van or something instead? It looks like all you have is sedans

I'm sure you will find a happy buyer for your old Max if you choose to go that way.

really wanted to go Maxima for years but CVT was a no go after renting some. then considered Q50 but design and tech was stale. so left the Nissans behind. .loving the G70 just lost my wife to cancer so a little car heavy at the moment

Yes, I hear CVT transmissions are not the greatest, even when they're not breaking down. Some manufacturers now use a "launch gear" to alleviate acceleration issues.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. Please take care and drive safe.

I hope your move isn’t met with any regret …

I’ve noted that pretty much all new vehicles, including those from Hyundai, include proprietary system management software that prohibits an owner from even using a commercially available scan-tool to diagnose issues and investigate illuminated dash warnings.

I, personally, find it ridiculous that once a vehicle’s manufacturer warranty period has passed, troubleshooting and repairs can be performed nowhere but at a dealership or at a manufacturer authorized repair facility … absolutely ridiculous.

Good for you on your new car, but my ‘99 isn’t going anywhere as long as I can help it.

I've been considering replacing my 2010 Maxima for years now with either a Q50 or a Kia Stinger. Just like you said the Q50 seemed outdated and didn't "WOW" me, and unfortunately, the new Maxima doesn't excite me either. Seeing your G70 I now have a third option to consider.

You may know that all Maximas after 2003 were built on the Altima platform. Built in The USA rather than Japan, very "dowdy" looking vehicle. My 2002 SE looks better then the 2022!

I also have heard this, it is coming a point that the local mechanic shops are being pushed out of service of newer vehicles because of the new cars requiring software and authorizations that are priced in a way that only dealerships can only front or even worse only allowed to purchase.

Really liking the G70! I can also relate to the CVT's. I have owned probably 17 or more Nissans in my life, but I am truly disappointed with Nissan lately. Owned an 87 SE 5spd, feel in love with that fine machine! Also had an 01 & 02. My wife had an '11 Altima with the CVT, she loved that car. Traded it off for a 16 Max with the SR package. I started to fall outta love with the Maximas starting in 2004. Recently picked up a 97 Max GLE w/97K miles for $2500 for my oldest boy. Hated his 2005 Lincoln LS. I'm excited for him. Your Maxima is beautiful. If you were closer, I'd be all over it like a wet t-shirt. LOL
