Can I install standard rear shocks on an electronic shock model A32 1996

I need to replace the rear shocks on a Maxima 1996 A32 which has an auto/sports mode button in the dash.
When I checked the rear struts I can see there is a rubber cap on the top with a reomvable device that looks like it uses a screw to push the shock down. This has with wires goiong to an electronic box
I can't find much info about it. I was wondering If I can install the standard "Monroe G1259" shock on this or is it different ?

Cheers.

What country are you in? In America, there is no such thing as what you're describing.

Are you sure this is OEM and not aftermarket?

Why isn't that posted? Only in the profile!

Maybe a trip to a Nissan dealer and pick the service manager and Parts manager's brains about how they address this. Hopefully, there's no special mounting hard manufactured into the unibody that precludes using today's non electronic replacements.

Not a fan of any aftermarket strut assemblies. My experience with three different manufacturer setups was horrible. I went back to all Nissan except the struts and used Koni Orange (STR-T) for that. Monroe being one. If you assume that just replacing the cartridge will work, there are MANY just as important components to a strut assembly that make it work properly in an A32 suspension.

Yes electronic struts on these similar to Toyota's TEMS existed on non north-American A32, primarily AUS and NZ, just had a module on the shocks to control dampening. 10 seconds on Google and I found the answer, no you cannot use the regular shocks, they are 2" long. And yes electronic suspension on these exists

I have an Maxima A32 30GV. Needs new front shocks. The electronic suspension never seemed to do anything. Can I use just (justanswer.com)

The xpert was WRONG. You can't use regular shocks. They are about 2" too long

I went down a rabbit hole for a sec. OP is talking about rears I know, here is a pic of the fronts. There's an adjuster mounted to the top.
