Changed Oils after recent posts...

After reading the recent posts about oils, and reading the stat sheets, I did an expensive oil change! But I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end.
I did a tranny flush, and put in AMSOil Synth, and Engine Oil change to 0W 30 synth.
The shifts feel alot smoother already and I'm very pleased. However, I had this done at my Nissan dealer and they put the generic oil filter, should I upgrade this at all??

The Nissan OEM filter is a good quality filter, you should be fine.

Actually on test at sites like www.motorcate.ca it was deemed better than other aftermarket ones like fram etc.

And next time, change the oil yourself. You won't have to worry about someone screwing with your car, also you get more for your money!

I usually do change it myself and I will from now on. Just changing from regular to synth I figured I'd let them do it, and I couldn't do the tranny change myself.

replace the filter with an Amsoil one the next time around. Nissan is a good filter, but Amsoil goes the extra mile 96se auto 163,000 plus all amsoil lubricants.

Steve's right, the Amsoil filter is better, but the Nissan one is also very good. Amsoil says it's okay to use the OEM one instead of theirs, the only catch is if you're going to go with extended drain intervals, they recommend that you change the Nissan filter at the manufacturer's recommended mileage, while their filter is approved for 6 months or 12,500 miles. There is absolutely nothing wrong with using the Nissan one and I wouldn't change it out until you're supposed to.

Thanks for all the input... I'll wait the suggested time to change the filter, and put an AMSOil on after that.
