Hello everyone
I have a 95 Maxima with 296k and up until last month she ran great. NOW…the engine misses and sputters and will run like this for days them all of a sudden she will run great like nothings wrong. A few days will go by and I think all is well then all of a sudden the engine sputters amd misses and will barely run.

I’ve replaced all spark plugs and coil packs plus most vacuum lines/hoses. At least the lines I can get to.

any ideas?

 

The first things that come to mind are the MAF, and the two crank sensors. Closely inspect the wiring going to each one for breaks. With the car running, wiggle the wires and see if it changes how the car runs. Have you checked the ECU for stored codes?

 

When the rough running happens is there a raw fuel smell from the exhaust?

Also, don’t forget about the camshaft position sensor.
