Bose Radio Not Powering On

I just had the car delivered from out of state, its a 1996 GLE with only 19,700 miles! However the radio will not power on; any suggestions?

I did look at the 2 fuses under the dash, they are not blown. All mirrors, cruise, windows operate as normal...any other ideas?

Just took this picture with the new wheels...I have the stock rims and the original tires form 1996 stored a

way.

If you're certain all fuses are good on the dash, I think the next step would be to remove the headunit and see if there's a fuse on the back of the unit itself and checking if it's blown. If it isnt, you would need to get a DVOM and check the radio wiring harness connector to make sure it's getting power/ground etc. If the connector has power and ground as it should, the headunit is likely dead and you would need a replacement or go aftermarket

OK I’ll work on figuring out how to pull the head unit.
It’s hard to believe it’s an actual dead headunit since the car only has 19,000 miles on it and it’s been sitting in an air-conditioning garage.

Consider that electronics can go bad due to time alone.
Oxygen in the air affects solder joints.
The car is 28 years old after all.

Age also affects rubber seals.

Better check the tires. If they are original, they could fail at any time. Replace them for your safety.

Capacitors etc on boards can fail due to age and not solely on use, there should be a fuse on the back of the headunit iirc hopefully it's just that

yep new rims and tires was the first thing I did. I left the original tires on the original rims for whoever gets the car next.
