Maxima GLE 98 noisy bouncing engine start fixing

Maxima GLE 98 noisy bouncing car engine start fixing
( added MAF , ignition switcn and Knock sensor replacements)
Problem: noisy bouncing car engine starting (common for A32)

Possible reasons: starter, battery, spark plugs, coils, relays, fuses, air line leak, vacuum hose leak, crankshaft and camshaft sensors (CPS), grounding

Fixing: finally, after checking all possible reason (take two months), it was found on internet search that the CPS signal maybe affected via the ground cable (location- close to CPS) signal (someone is used oscilloscope to see the pulse signal shape). The battery ground cable connector was disconnected from the engine front, and it was connected under left starter bolt. The cable connector hole was drilled to fit the bolt. There is the battery connection cable to the car body – close to air filter. It should be cleaned and tighten well. The car is starting well now. And the engine is working better, as a clock.

Update Maxima 98 start problem: (03/31/26)
1. The moving ground cable from the engine front to the starter is the temporary solution.
2. An additional ground cable ( Heavy 4 gauge cable, 19 in) was installed for the engine front from the battery cable connection to a car body. See pictures.
3. It was found that a longer left bolt should be used for the starter (starter battery cable).
4. There was no problem with a car starting until the ignition switch problem suddenly. The starter was working several minutes with ignition key OFF and finally fired.
5. The switch assy ignition 487501E411, the starter/inhibitor relay (25230-C996B was used instead of 25239-C9962) and starter Ultima Select N6122728 were installed. The graphite powder grease was used for both sides of the key lock cylinder before a new switch installetion.
6. The 25230-7996A relay is replacement for 25230-79964.

It is good starting so far.

Update 04/10/26
1. Error code P0100
- the MAF voltage was increasing normally with the RPM up to (1-2.5)k during a test, but with error code P0100
- top cover plate (plastic and metal) of MAF was removed
- resoldering all contacts with adding a new solder (little bit) , Isopropyl droplets was used
- cleaning with brash
- all wires connectors (3) were disconnected/reconnected several times.
Finally- problem was fixed.
2. Error code P0325 (Knock Sensor)
- it was found that the sensor contact is not stable ( check resistance of KS; between engine ground and one pin of connector; second pin is not connected to KS)
- KS was removed and a new KS is installed (550 kOhm).
Original KS: A53-600 M01 Unisia Jecs (later Hitachi)
New KS: Hitachi KNS0001 ( the same as original - A53-600 M01 - see pictures)
Problem was fixed. No error codes.
Maxima 98 GLE is more powerful right now.
