I'm back in a Maxima! This time a Gen 4 (UK)

Hi guys. Sorry its been 5 years since I logged in, but its been that long since I was in a Maxima!

Some may remember my grey coloured gen3, which i owned from 2015 to 2020...

Loved that car, and I've been on the lookout for another Maxima since then. Trouble is, unlike the USA, Maxima in the UK are few and far between.

I was looking around at the end of last year for another retro motor to share daily duties with my 1988 Volvo 740GL ....

I was driving a 2009 Renault Laguna Coupe, which was a great looking car, but just too 'new' for me...

So, when I saw the Gen4 advertised up in Dundee, Scotland, I was straight onto the seller. A deal was done including the Renault, and I drove in the 230 miles to Dundee on 27th December to do the change. Heres the first two pictures I took with the Tay Bridge in the background...

It's a year 2000 SE, has covered only 85k miles, and the colour is FS0 Sagemist Green. Drives superbly. Paint is a bit flat and wears a few scratches and stonechips, but I'll get onto that. Wheels are booked in for a refurb on 27th January.

I've refitted the QX and V6 badges to the boot (trunk!), fitted a fresh set of reg plates, given it a good interior valet and fitted my favourite Pioneer Bluetooth head unit. Next step is the exterior. Some more photos for you...

I'd like to source a Maxima decal to fit between the rear lights

Im glad to be back, and thanks for looking

Chris

Fresh pics just taken. Temperature is -1°C (30°F), so no bodywork improvements today, and Im back to work tomorrow after the Christmas break. Sad news.

Very nice!

Noticed though it's missing the speaker covers on the doors, change the speakers?

Speakers are fine, the cover surrounds are in the door pockets but they have no mesh on. Something to sort.

Welcome back. I read through your old car, years ago and now again. Were dual piston front calipers on you J30 original? The US never got that. Your Primera was nice. I like seeing the differences between cars sold in various countries. Can you post up some more interior photos of your new car? I'd like to see the center console, HVAC, well all the controls and buttons actually. Is cruise control an option or not common?

Another UK owner/enthusiast

Great car!.

I have a 3.0 in the same colour that I purchased in Aberdeenshire in 2024. Drove it back to southern England (Hampshire). Had one for business use back in the late 1990s and swore that one day I would own another.
