Leak after water pump change from other side of engine.
I just changed my leaking water pump and found a leak on the other side of the engine. Not sure if it is the hose leaking or that metal thing under the circled hose. If it is the hose, I think the part was discontinued. What size hose is that one? It connects to the bottom of the throttle body.
On a related note, after changing the water pump I tested the vehicle with straight distilled water. it ran fine for about a 30 min freeway drive when it was probably close to 100 degrees outside. After parking and idling a few mins with the a/c on, the temp started to climb from the middle of the gauge. Shut the car off and heard what sound like steaming but could not see anything. It sounded like it came from the rear of engine (driver side). Added a gallon of distilled water drove 15 mins, then checked and added another since I heard the steam sound again on shut down. Stopped for about 40 mins then drove home but did not have to add water that time or hear the steaming sound. I guess you can't drive with straight water when it's hella hot out lol. Hope the head gasket is okay. The next day I drained the water and added coolant. I drove for an hour and idled a bit during that time with max a/c and it being over 100 degrees and it did not make the steaming sound on shutdown, but I was able to trace the leak to that area in the picture thanks to the coolant not evaporating.
