Sorry, guys...I've been waiting along with you since October '01. Greg could not have known this would've happened. I'm sure it's probably his worst nightmare. Hopefully things will be dealt with in an appropriate manner, by both the seller and the customer.

 

I guess everyone will just have to stay tuned for now to find out what happens.

Looks like my lenses are definately NOT the diamond cut ones if i would have known this I would probably order elsewhere, I had a chance to get the same clears for 20$ 10 times during this 3 and a half month wait. Can anyone with regular ones tell a difference between the ones I got and their ordinary ones??? Maybe they changed the design of the lens as well? Either way, I am kind of dissappointed to say the least. I put them on the car, they do look very "regular" to me.

 

At this point I am really confused. I didn't look at the thread until now since earlier today, I installed the lenses, they do not look like the ones in that advertisement pic for diamond cut clears. I am wondering if it's just me or did everyone else get ones that do not look like that. I have a few more pics with no flash, i'll post them.. I'm lost, lol.. so these are NOT diamond cut?

 

Can someone with regular ones compare them and tell me if they are the same or not? Perhaps the diamond cut design was changed a little bit?

i'm making the assumption that if they are "diamond cut" the lens itself should have a diamond like design. i'm holding the regular clears in my hand right now and the lens are in a rectangular design and it looks like the pics you posted NYCe...

 

Still kind of hard to tell, but they don't look like DC clears from those pics?? But maybe it is just the pictures... Can you take a pic of them on your car?? Here is another pic from earlier in this post of them on a members car.

i'm going to compare the SIDE portion of the 2 piece lamps.

NON diamond clear (old style):


1: notice how there is a defined vertical line. it is created by one side reflecting light while the other isn't. this is possible due having two different lens/reflector patterns.

the light is being distributed (in this case reflected, since its reflecting back the camera flash) by the lens' pattern, which resembles a grid.

2. notice how there is an opaque rectangle where the bulb is suppose to be? notice how it contrasts with the reflective background?


diamond clear:

you can tell (i hope) that the lens type/reflectors are essentially the same for the whole lamp?

unlike the old style lens, the light isn't distributed solely by the lens. can you see the vertical flutes of the metallic reflector?
can you tell that the lens itself has horizontal flutes?

btw, the front facing piece is NOT diamond cut. again, look at the lens itself.

 

mine looks like the first pic above yours, not these...well, maybe it's the lighting in the area, but these just look clear...mine looks a little more crystalier like the one displayed by Victim64...real nice, but i'm trying to get the fogs to make em all look nice...and i need 97 headlights....

 

Thank god I didn't order them through Custom. I didn't order them through Custom because of the expected delay. I ordered mine through www.procarparts.com and they're definitely were diamond cut. I'm glad I made that choice to go with procarparts.com instead. I feel bad for you guys, waited that long and got the regular lenses.

 

It looks to me like the pic on custommaxima.com is of the old design. It occurs to me that since he had not yet recieved the shipment of the dew design lenses when he took the pictures, he would not necessarily have known that the texture would be different.

Looking at pics of the old design, I don't see a reflector in the sidemarker. In the new ones, there is a bright reflector; I would assume they did this to make them comply with at least some states' equipment laws.

I agree they are not nearly as nice as the old design, but they do still seem to be a bit clearer than my regular clears. Maybe it's just my imagination though, I dunno.

i am so glad im impatient and bought mine off someone on the org cause i was gonna wait for greg but look what happened thats disappointing. 3-4 months
i waited since november and finally said f*ck it and got mine a few weeks ago.

 

it definitely look like regular clear.... if you don't want to wait for diamond cut clear, get it from procarparts.com.... I won the Ebay auction and receive it 4 days later.

 

I am telling everyone that if I don't get euro clears I am sending them back for my damn money I hope that Greg doesn't have false advertisement!

 

Show a pic of the front piece, it should look more "diamond cut" than the side piece.

 

Seems like almost everyone whos posted about their lights realizes these are NOT the lights advertised on Greg's page. I either want a refund or a replacement. You pay and then wait for specific lights, and when they arrive, theyre not what you paid for.

 

Ya know I feel the same way you do. If they are not diamond cut clears then Greg is using false advertisment.
If mine aren't euro clears then I am returning them for a refund or exhange for the real thing.

 

Alright guys I am on top of this. I am in the process of speaking to my supplier, trying to find out what is going on. He told me that before he sent them out he compared them to the standard clear ones and there were definately clearer. He is going to call the manufacturer in Taiwan right now to find out what the deal is. I been talking to many different suppliers all over the country about this and they all said that their is only two clear bumper lights available for the maxima. You have received the diamond cut clear ones. We are suspect that the manufacturer changed the design when they changed the mold recently. So guys just please be patient with me while i figure out this mess. I have never let you guys down before and will not this time either. I will work as hard as i can to get this situation rectified. If I wanted the standard clear ones I could have had them months ago and they would have costed me alot less. I will do my best to answer any questions you guys may have. I have a few hundred emails from angry customers I have to respond to now.

Man, even though it blows we didnt get what we expected, you cant help but feel bad for Greg. The only question I would ask you Greg is, how come other pages have the diamond cuts as shown on your page...old stock?
