Thanks again for your patience guys, I am devoting my entire day to getting this situation resolved. I already spoke to ProCarParts and they are almost sold out of them. When I find out more info I will let you guys know.
Thanks,
Greg

Well, Good Luck Greg. I know this nightmare just keeps getting worse, but lessons have been learned, and maybe it can help in the future?? Maybe you should just never pre-sale stuff that you don't have in stock??

Got an email from Greg..."Apparantely I was sent the wrong items and need to see if the Diamond Cut Bumper lights are available. I should know more later today, please email me back tommorow and I should be able to give you more info." he also said he'd take returns...I hope even after theyve been installed. I didnt realize they were the wrong lights till i put them on. Anyways, stop emailing the guy and let him figure out wtf the problem is. Im sure he'll let us know the deal by tomorrow evening.

You would think one would check before they were all shipped out...

He probably wanted them out to people ASAP plus he had about 1000 boxes. I mean should one person go through everyone to make sure? Even fully employed shiping companies can make a mistake. Cut some slack.

But waht he is gonna try to figure out is if those are the new clear corners that come in Diamond cut. Because if so then it was not anything he could do. They redesigned them because they had bad seals and would leak water into there. So just wait to find out if they are the right ones before you start a mutiny.

Well, checking just one box to see what they did to fix the leaking problem might have been helpful?? I mean if I had 1,000 clears that are supposed to be leak proof now, I might just check one of those bad boys out?? lol

But like SuDZ says, just give Greg some time and lets see what he can do.

Dude, don't get all defensive... No I don't think one person should go through every box, but maybe check one box. I think I did cut him some slack by waiting since October 5th. I do appreciate what Greg does, but it gets to a point where it starts to get a little redicoulus. I'm not starting a mutiny, just venting.

Here's is another update, just spent two hours on the phone with my supplier. I sent him the pictures from procarparts.com of the standard clears and the diamond cut clears. We are now getting those pictures to the manufacturer in Taiwan and find out why I did not get the correct ones. Everyone is sleeping now in Taiwan but as soon as they wake up I will be in constant phone contact getting this resolved. I still have a few hundred sets left in stock but will not be selling anymore till we get this situation resolved. If any of you want to return them I will definately give you a full refund, their will not be any type of restocking fee of course. I will try to make it up to you next time you order.

I did in fact quickly open up one set to confirm it was the correct ones, and I will admit that it did not look as clear as the older ones but they do look better then the standard clears, so i figured it was due to the change in the mold. If I knew for sure it was the wrong ones guys I would not have shipped them out cause this problem would have inevitably happened.

Please give me more time to get this situation solved. I promise whatever happens in the end I will do what it takes to make sure you guys are happy. I am sorry again for all of you that waited so long and feel like you got screwed....trust me you are not the one who is getting screwed, it is me.

i'm sure greg will come through in the end. sounds like a middle man problem. the pics on his site were from old diamind cut lights he sold. he believed he ordered the same lights. it wouldn't make sence for him to open the boxes b/c they are sealed. he most likely put his trust into his supplier and is now getting raped on the deal b/c of a mishap. he is going to have to eat a lot of $$$.

Yes, the clear bulbs look awesome and they are very visible. But they are illegal in some (most?) states.

Yeah, I was on the phone with him today, and he is very, very concerned about all this. The shipping charges alone on the returns are insane.

I have had hyperwhite rear signals for months now without any problems. My fronts still blink orange because I have been too lazy to change them...maybe next weekend.

Maybe it has just been around here but lately it seems like the cops have been cracking down on it more in the city. I guess now that it became more poular they are deciding to press it more.

I put mine on, and to tell you the truth they do look better than the original old clears. The style is pretty much the same as the old ones, but they are a lot clearer. Its almost to much hassle to get the other ones...Ill have to wait and see what greg says.

I put mine in too. It looks better than ugly orange. If things change or what not about the outcome then I will decide then about leaving them or whatever.

Just got my clears...

I'm up in Canada, and I got my clear this morning. After reading the posts, I knew what to expect. I had the stock amber lenses on my car, so even though they aren't what I was expecting, its still a vast improvement.
I'm sure Greg is working this out, and I appreciate all the effort he is putting towards this. I'm sure we all would hate to deal with this problem with the manufacturers ourselves, ie. eliminating the middle-man(Greg). And I'm sure the manufacturer wouldn't have done anything for us as individuals, but as a group, we might get somewhere with it. Just my $0.02... Thanks Greg.

I hope this will work out for everyone in the end. I am going to probably take mine out and pack them up the same way I got them so nothing happens to them and I keep them as "new" as they are. It's a shame something like this happened, but I trust Greg and I would hate to be in his position right now, I appreciate his efforts of getting this stuff to us as fast as possible in the 1st place, ofcourse it wasn't meant to turn out this way but I hope it works out for the best for everyone.

I wrote this message to custommaxima.com today:

February 13, 2002--

Greg, I finally received my bumper lights moments ago. Unfortunately, they are not the same lights you are advertising on your website. I'm attaching a picture of what you sent me [actually this pic is on my maxima site below]. These do not look the same as the lights on your website at address http://www.custommaxima.com/DiamondCutBumperLights.html which are described as:

"THESE ARE NOT THE CLOUDY CLEAR BUMPER LIGHTS THAT
HAVE BEEN AVAILABLE FOR SOME TIME NOW,
THE DIAMOND CUT BUMPER LIGHTS ARE MORE CLEAR
AND HAVE A EURO LOOK SIMILAR TO A LEXUS. " --CustomMaxima.com

As you can clearly see in the picture I just took the marker light has a lens exactly like the stock lens, only it is white instead of orange. This lens looks nothing like the "euro look" you describe or the picture of the black maxima on your website.

Furthermore, the lights you sent me are identical to the "standard" bumper lenses offered on Autodynamic's website at http://secure15.dellhost.com/~d30022...mp/NM9599B.jpg for $39.95 (I paid CustomMaxima.com $45.00--and waited 4 months--for what you sent). The lights you show on your site look exactly like the "euro" style lenses that Autodynamic offers at http://secure15.dellhost.com/~d30022...s/NM9599BE.jpg for $49.95. Incidentially, I ordered "euro" clear bumper lights from Autodynamic several weeks ago and received them within 5 days--they look fabulous in my Maxima. You can check out pictures of them at http://www.dotphoto.com/Go.asp?l=ppa...ID=148755&T=1.

I am very disappointed that it has taken your company nearly 5 months to deliver the wrong product. Many people on Maxima.org compliment your service and are willing to cut you a lot of slack. I, myself, was very pleased with the red/clear tail lights I ordered and received way back in October. It is sad that in this case things went so poorly.

That being said, I would like to discuss getting a refund and returning the lights to you. Please respond via email or call me at the number below as soon as possible so we can discuss the situation.

Regards,

Patrick Paris

Yes, sorry. I missed that page when the server was busy/overloaded. Good to know, but still an unfortunate situation.

As an aside, I'm happy with the lights I ordered from Autodynamic.com. They look "euro" or "diamond cut"--however you would describe them they look great. Not sure why Greg's supplier is having such difficulty, but I think Autodynamic's lights are also made in Taiwan. The light housing was silver instead of grey though and the quality was about the same. Both sets were pretty rough around the edges.

Autodynamic.com

Looks like it is time for an update from Greg. I just check autodynamic.com, and they do have them in stock.

I just would like to know one way or another on how this deal is going to turn out, so I can either wait, or go ahead and order these lights through autodynamic.com.

So Greg, have you heard anything from Taiwan???
