Question about nubbing the 1157!

i nubbed the top part(closer to the bulb and couldn't get it in. so then i did the bottom one and then i got that to go in. but after a minute or two the fuse blew. this was on the taillight blubs.

The fuse would blow on you most likely. You bumped it from like 8 watts to around 27 or so. Just up the fuse from a 7.5 to the 10A and you should be all set.

I did it, along with a lot of other people.

I haven't had problems for months.

you're talking about that small metal nipple on the side of the bulb right? you nubbed both of them?

like the other guys said bump that blown 7.5amp fuse up to a 10amp fuse and youll be fine. Mine has been like that for about 3yrs now and not one problem"knock on wood!"

not to mention i swapped litterally every bulb in my car to PolarG hyper white and red for the tails.

If u cut both nubs it won't burn. Did u forget to spin it 180 degrees? Just change the fuse. I have never had a problem with my fuses catching on fire, but it CAN happen.

Yeah since it is only a few Amps over it will make up for the extra current your drawing. Everything should work out without a problem.

There's an easier way, d00ds....

All I did was take the bulb out of it's socket, turn it 180 degrees, and shove it back in there. Worked for me. And a friend of mine did the 3rd gen rewire-style mod for his 95 and it worked to. Just an idea.
