Raced a 2 door Pontiac

And what makes you say that? Average quarter mile for stock GTP owners is deep in the 14s. One got a 14.05@101.
I'm not even going to say anything.
Well, except that....nah, I don't even have to diss at all, those numbers and "GTP" in the same sentence make for more humor than any joke I could ever make...I can see mid-to-upper 14s, stock, but anything with some good old american car/engine age is just going to get further away from that.

The Max is a very nice car. No doubt about that. But in terms of *****-out acceleration, you guys unfortunately have the disadvantage. Nothing against you or the Max; it's just a fact. My car was just born with bigger *****. Blame genetics.
And I still am waiting for conclusive evidence as to why a Pontiac vs. a Maxima with the "same mods" gives the win to the Maxima every time.

But when I violate you will you call the cops?
I don't want to get in trouble with the law

I will tell you you'd better have a hefty shot of juice. What's the wager? Keep it friendly. I don't wanna send you home broke.
As for this:

BTW.. Look at these slips.. .see the one w/ me running the 12.4 sec vehicle.... that was a fairly modified Corvette Z06... Have you seen the Vipers run up there yet??? 13.8!!! so in regards to my times of 14.9-15.0 I don't think that is too bad at all... I'll be faster this season too because I'm giving it a tune up, and I've decided to make a small investment in some roller rockers to give my car some power up top (where the car is pretty weak)
BTW... your time isn't bad at all for this altitude... I figure you'd be in the 14.9-15.1 range at sea level... Your trap speed shows that the max is an up top racer not a down low...
http://www.chesserx.com/ih8rice/slips.jpg
BTW the bottom slip is me racing a stock GTP... just for time comparison sake... (Daniel Sagio's Green 1997 GTP)

This thread has its ups and downs, it seems as if I am the one keeping it on the ups, probably b/c I do not have a the third peal confidence that my 5spd brothers do and I have gotten beat by a stock GTP from a dead stop, but I have held my own on a roll with a GTP.
Neway, my belief is that the GTP is a very big low rpm monster, b/c you wont see a GTP ever hit 6500 rpms stock, and a maxi revs up there quite happily.
Sidenote, Most GT's that I know of cant go beyond 4000rpm when revving at a standstill, once they get going( on a roll, put it into "N" and rev) then you can go up to ~ 5800rpms.
I've seen 94 mph on the top of 2nd in my buds GTP, I've also pulled very slightly on a GTP doing 120+, again, not very pretty hi-end for the domestic.
3.8L = 200hp 52.631 hp/Liter(worst case scenario) N/A
3.8L = 240hp 63.157 hp/Liter S/Ced
3.0L = 190hp 63.333hp/Liter(worst case scenario) N/A
3.0L = 222hp 74 hp/Liter N/A
High tech. 4 cams comapred to 1, 24 valves compared to 12.
Quite impressive for a smaller engine
If you used the NHRA correction factors IH8RICE (hehe me too) who runs a 14.9 @ 5800' would be running approximately 13.8, for a stock GTP, that's good, but hmmm.
Mine (16.3)comes out to a 15.1 corrected time. not bad for an auto Maxi.
everyone to their own, each buys what they want, no baby cries.

My car has a few minor engine problems.. the people I bought it from took horrible care of it... I'm working them out in about a month and I hope to take another .1 off... if not I'll get a 3.25 or 3.0 in pulley instead of my monstrous 3.4!

Kinda OT...
Hey, what do you GTP guys think of the 3.5L DOHC engine in the Olds Intrigue? Sure, it makes only 215hp compared to the 3.5 Maxima's 255, but it's still a good step in the right directon for GM. IMHO, it's a pretty good engine stock, considering it gives up only 25hp to the s/c'd 3.8L. I think that if the 3.5 DOHC was s/c'd, it'd be a great replacement for the 3.8. And since Oldsmobile is getting the axe, it'd be a nice way to keep the engine alive and not waste the R&D spent on it. What do you guys think?

The only reason why I think GM didn't go w/ that is because the 3800 Series II is a cheap.. but reliable and sturdy motor.... I think the all aluminum everything 24V would melt or break if it was put through the crap we give our Prixs... Also... I looked at one and it seemed physically larger than the 3.8.... Maybe they'd have to re-do the engine compartment or something. I'll do some research.. I'll probably be able to get a pretty accurate answer....
EDIT... It also may already be too high of compression to SAFELY put a SC on it... that is why the GTP CAN get over 300HP out of the engine.. but it isn't as reliable as the stock. People in my local club have put over 100,000 HARD (dragging all the time) miles on the engine and it still ticks like the day it was made!!
