Lack of power

Guys, need some help.

On the freeway or on the road when I need sometimes to accelerate, I push my pedal just a little bit, the car engine's sound increases a little bit, but the car doesn't really accelerates.

Only if I push my pedal 10% more, then it of course starts going faster

D u know what the problem is???
I want to push the pedal only a little bit for more acceleration. Like on new Accuras! Common, are we worse then Accuras??????????

Do you have an automatic or manual? If automatic, maybe your transmission is shifting down so thats why you are feeling lag..

For a manual, I don't see how engine sound could increase without some acceleration to go with it..

The only other thing I can think of is your throttle cable is loose, check that..

Uhhh... Dunno about you, but when I need to accelerate, I push the pedal down to the floor. When I want to go just a little faster, I push the pedal down just a little bit.

Now as for the problem? I'd suggest drivers ed.

If you have a 5 speed is it possible your clutch is slipping? That will allow your engine to rev up faster than the car actually moves. Otherwise check your throttle cable. Post more details, like mileage, tranny, CEL on, etc.....

Thanx!
Well I have 96K on my car, I've just changed transmission fluid, did complete fuel injection cleaning, put NGK spurks, but it still kinda sluggish, again when I try to push sometimes on the freeway to get the speed running, I need to push more then I supposed to. Did you guys have these problems before???

The most important thing is what to do?

How can I check my cables if they are loosen?
I've checked one, but it seems to be like normal.
Maybe to shorten the cable a little bit?

Hope to hear back.

Get a Haynes manual - it'll tell you how to do the throttle cable adjustment as well as many other fixes. Well worth the money. Keep posting. Good luck.

The dealership one is much more complete but also much more expensive. It will run you around 100 or so.
