need opinions on powdercoating stock wheels white

i have a white max and i really want white wheels but dont really want to buy different rims. how do you think the 15" 7 spoke sawblades would look. I found a powdercoating machine for 80 bucks in a magazine, you think i could do that myself??

I think it would look kinda cheap, but can't be sure without seeing it.

You could do it yourself but keep something in mind:

In order to powdercoat anything, you have to be dealing with bare metal. This means that you would have to remove the OEM clearcoat on your wheels before treating them w/ the powdercoat. Usually this is done by "dipping them" in a chemical bath. . .You might want to call around and ask the pros for some estimates on this.

When all is said and done, you may just be better off buying a used (or new) set of wheels in white & selling your old ones to make up some of the difference. Wheels take a beating - they really need a professional quality finish to hold up over time.
