Throttle Body Bypass kit on EBAY (6 HP+) Is this BULL$?)
Guys, check this out. There is a guys selling these kits on e-bay for like $15. Is this a ligit 6 HP or is this BS? Heck, if this is really going to work, you cant beat 6hp for $15. Let me know what you all think!

hehe...
"On a warm day, your coolant can reach temperatures of up to 210*...the hot coolant running throught the throttle body warms up the air entering the engine and can hinder performance...These temps can reduce ET's by as much as .2seconds."
I think they meant 'increase ETs by as much as .2 seconds.'

you could have done it yourself for about $2.00
its a warm weather only mod and it will not reduce your time.
I did this mod myself on my 89 mustang and it droped my ets. But down here in houston it gets pretty hot. I don't believe it would help you yanks much. by the way I don't see it giving 6 hp. It would help my mustang by hundreths and maybe a tenth.

Guys, do you know anything about what a throttle body bypass does??? Our cars, like most throttle bodied cars, have coolent running through the TB (Throttle Body). This coolent heats up the TB therefor increasing the intake charge temperature. As we all know hot air = bad air. By bypassing the TB, which I have done on my 97 5spd, you decrease the intake charge temp, which = colder air = more air = more power. This is great for trying to get that last little bit out at the track, but not very practical for everyday driving in the city on Maximas. The way that our cars control the idle when the car is cold is that they have a simple thermostat in the TB. When cold this keeps the idle up and when it warms up, it retracts into the TB and the idle drops back down to normal. The problem is that when you bypass the TB with the coolent, the thermostat inside the TB never gets to heat up and drop the idle down so your car idles at 2000 rpm. Until a work-around can be found for this problem, the bypass remains a track mod to be put back to normal on the street. However, it is well worth it and 6 hp is VERY possible with this "free" mod. Don't beleive me? Then check around with some other cars (makes/models) and see for yourself. LT1 Z28s dyno an 8hp differance at the rear wheels with only doing this mod. That is on the high end of the numbers, but you get the point. So before you all start saying that it doesn't work and that it's BS, do the research!
