Can spark plugs add 6hp

On ebay they're selling these "Denso Iridium Spark Plugs" claiming that they will add 6 hp. Is there any truth to this

No.

Maybe if your car makes around 1000hp...

But in short, no.

Only if your old plugs were misfiring... nothing you need to worry about unless you are boosting a lot.

Yeah your only gonan notice gains like that if you were having lots of problems before but if your old plugs are still good then nothing new is gonna magicly happen.

How much are they trying to charge for these wonder plugs anyhow?

Man, they're pretty expensive too. Don't waste your money. Instead, save it for some of the other money-making gimmicks such as the RapidFire plugs or maybe the Tornado air cleaner. I remember aftermarket products in the '70's (and i'm sure it was going on LONG before then too) that claimed the same thing: "save fuel AND make your car more powerful.." What a bunch of crap!

NGK all the way!

Yep, and if you really want Iridiums, then get the NGK Iridiums part #BKR5EIX. They will run you about $6 a plug, and I like them just fine Oh, they will only last about 30-35k though FYI

No, spark plugs do not give you more horsepower. Stick with stocker NGK's. No one has had a problem with those. They are good for 60k, but I would take them out and regrease the threads with antiseize compounds every 30k just to make sure when 60k rolls around, the plugs haven't "become one" with the cylinder block.
