Traction Problems...Am I doing something wrong
I recently parted out with my auto and got a 5spd. Right off the bat, I noticed the increase in power, but never really gunned it until I finished putting on my old mods. Now I can't seem to find traction at all in 1st gear and about 1/4 through second.
I did a search, and found that a lot of people use the kuhmo ecsta supra 712, which I already had on my 17's but still no traction. So I went and bought some Pirelli's for my stock 15's and even bought them in a wider size to get a better contact patch. A little better, but not good enough.
Is it something I'm doing wrong? I launch at about 2k and I don't really floor it until I get traction in 2nd. When I launch at 2k and floor it, nothing but wheel spin. Please Help

try puttin a blower on the car, it only gets worse with power. i've yet to try it but the quaife differential is definitly an avenue to look into. The maxima is cursed with an open differential, which leads to serious traction issues when horsepower is increased.

This should help all of us with traction issues.
