Anybody know what solution there is to fixing this? It came up as an error code when I diagnosed the Check Engine light. Any place where i can get it at a good price? Dealer here (ottawa, canada) wants $1000+. And no junk yards have any in my area. Can anybody help, as this thing I beleive is pretty important.

 

Thats a tough one to find. My Automatic Transimssion Control Unit went on me under warranty. Threw the CEL light. The car drove ok, but the dealer wound up putting a new Control Unit in. Does your car drive OK still or is the tranny in limp mode?

 

Drives fine. I'm wondering if I just disconnect the battery, and reset the ECU. If it will go away. I don't notice anything at all wrong in the driving. What did your feel like?

 

I didn't notice anything at all either But being my car was under warranty, I just braught it back. They initially reset the CEL light and told me they had to order the part. Drove around for a good week and the light never came back on. They replaced the unit for me. I suspect it could have just been a fluke.

Try a reset and see if it comes up again. If the car drives fine, and the light doesn't come back on, consider yourself lucky!

 

If the CEL comes back and you do decide to replace it you can probably pick one up from one of the recyclers on Car-part.com
