Has anyone seen an aftermarket radio install that fits flush into the dash of a Max? Is there a special kit? My friend did his and it looks ugly cause it sticks out. If possible could anyone post a pic?

not mine dude>>>

mine sticks out half an inch or so... the solution is:
1. remove stereo from mounting bracket
2. remove mounting bracket from car
3. drill new mounting holes about 1/2 inch behind the factory holes
4. replace everything, stereo should be mounted flush now.

I'm going to do this sometime, but I just spent the last 2 saturdays putting my system in, so I'm not too excited about pulling the damn thing apart again any time soon.

Justmax pretty much summed it up. You have to drill new holes, they isnt a kit for the 4th gen max. Trust me, i worked at a shop (We did mostly BMW, Porsche, Lexus, Benz, etc) The only way we did was bolt it in.

I think im pretty knowledgable about the maxima. Well if you need to know how it will fit, almost every aftermarket radio that i have seen will stick out like a 1/2 inch or so. My Eclipse does, cause it folds down automatically and needs the clearance. If you like that flush look, drill out 4 new holes on the housing where the radio sits. This will allow you to make it sit flush with the everything else like climate controls, pocket,etc... peace!
