My EGR light is on and the only thing we can find wrong is a part in the EGR system up by the fire wall. There are three wiring harnesses right together. The middle one is connected to a brown top piece held in with three screws. its about 2 inches in diameter and makes a clicking noise when the engine is warm. Someone help please. I've been battleing this code for a month now and that is the last part. When you unplug the harness the noise goes away. Anybody know what this part is? Sorry for being so long.

What is the actual code for your CEL not EGR light? My car occasionally makes a clicking noise from that location and doesn't appear to have a problem, or throw out a CEL code. I think it is the IACV (idle air control valve) doing its job. Good luck.

When I do a diagnostic on the computer it gives me the 03/04 code which is egr. But I replaced the EGR valve and it wasn't the problem. I figured the thing clicking was the problem. I didn't know something was supost to click. Any ideas?

after my idle air control valve was replaced, it clicks like a second clock, i think its fine

Will the EGR valve trip the knock sensor light as well? What else could it be to meke the EGR light come on?
