I'm not the racing type but this was a fun evening. I was in a big time rush this afternoon so I'm givem the max a bit more gas then usual. Getting on the Thruway this late 80's 944 (Kraut) is next to me on the right, I hear him downshift and I'm thinking this guys gonna try to pull out in front of me, I'm already on the gas trying to see triple digits. It's a great spot to fly, and this guy see a maxima and thinks.......no problem, well no way, I flew past him and he couldn't keep up? Are those things really that slow?? It was kind of beat up looking but damn. Then on the way home a Civic (Rice) with an ash can fart muffler got on my F___ing nerves. Trys to pull out in front of me on the highway while he's cutting off somebody else, like he can't see me with the Hanabi's shining in his face. Peddal to the metal and handed him his share of the lane, the shoulder that is. A$$ hole!

 

Yeah if you went up against the NA version of the 944 yeah you woulda beat him. They go 0-60 in about 8 seconds. They are 4 cylinder. Too bad yah didn't race to top speed or else he woulda handed you, your ***. They still do over 150 with that little 4 banger, and they pull a .90 on the skidpad. Your just lucky it was straight cause those cars have a perfect 50/50 weight distribution. Your also lucky you didn't deciede to pull that on a turbo version. They have more like 165mph top speed and go 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. Plus that whole perfect balance and .90 on the skidpad thing helps too. I looked at that car for a while and they are awsome cars.

This is good to know! My brother has a friend who has one of these cars, it's not Turbo! He's always telling me his car is so fast, I should challange him to a rolling race up to 80MPH. Show him that the Maxima can indeed move!

 

944 can have anywhere from 150 hp to 250 hp stock. There are many different power levels, I can think of 5 off the top of my head in various years.
