I'm in if they are OEM quality HID, and dont look 'custom' made like some of the ones on the 3rd gens

one piece or two piece 1 piece woul require you to take a bar out and modify the fender so I dont really care.. if it was one piece tha was easily installed then alll the better!!

Like others have said, if they are good quality, offer an improvement over the stock headlights in visibility, and can be upgraded to HIDs I would definitly be interested. Maybe you could offer them with HIDs as an option.

But it is not in my budget right now, it would be something I would get after a few other Mods. $300-350 sounds like a good price, any idea how much HIDs would add to the price? The 'BMW Halo' would definatly be

Just got off the phone working on some more details. They will be dual lights and you can use hid's in them with no problems. We are using the BMW "halo" ring in the design. Trust me these will look sick. I need to check on the one piece idea, it is definatly possible, I just want to keep it around the $350 range so you do not have to pay to much for them.

Just to give some people an idea of what they could look like. Here's a link to the Autodynamic site with projector headlamps for other vehicles.

And oh yeah, I'd be interested!

http://secure15.dellhost.com/~d30022..._headlamps.htm

Disclaimer: These are not the one's Greg will be getting. Just examples of them for other vehicles...I repeat...just examples!
They may in fact look nothing like the one's we see for the Max.

They were custom made. You can't buy them (people were asking in the original post). I don't even think plans were ever released for them. I can't remember who made them, but he put a *lot* of time into it if I remember correctly..

EDIT: They were made by shirtboy. The thread is at http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....threadid=85063
(amazing what a quick search can do..)

it will most likely not be one piece. one piece would be a pain to install. maybe we can come up w/ a matching corner light. 9004 bulbs might be kept to order to be able to just plug in HID light kits that are out there. DOT approved stamp will probably be on the lights....

Good luck!

I agree wholly with this post. I know Greg laid out some better details in another post, but if this could be the overall goal then I'm sure whatever may come up can be solved if we keep in mind what we want.

An add on would be using HID's while retaining high beams. This is probably redundant to having dual projectors, but just to be sure.

$60,000 set up?

And if you get $8750 together for the first 25 units (@ $350), you are going to front the other $41,250? Whew!!!! Thats a big hit....

Seems like to cover $60k, you would need to get 171 units @ $350, or you might end up with a pair of Projector headlights on your car, and they cost you $20,625 per side...

Sounds cool though, I would be up for a set.

So what will the compatibility with current HID kits be such as the Hanabi 6000k or OSRAM 6000k ones?

Because won't the bulbs go from D2R for reflective to needing D2S for projectors?

Is everything compatible except the bulbs or what?

I am on the brink of buying OSRAM 6000ks!

So what do you ppl think?

Peace

blueghost - you have to get clears first

These projectors are sounding better by the moment. if you can get better light output with them, and they are DOT approved (like you said), then I think you are about to make a nice chunck of income.

The trick is to get the right light output.

wicked1044, do you work with Greg?

I know very little about headlights, but isn't the main reson the stock lights suck the weak 9004 bulbs? Personaly I think you should use whatever bulb will provide the best lighting at a reasonable cost.

Are these going to be similer to the ones shirtboy made? Where there any pictures of shirtboys lights on his car?

CUSTOMMAXIMA.COM,

What type of projectors are being used?

Bosch H7-bulb units? or Valeo H1? Or the Hella H7 or H9? Generic H1, H7, H3, 9006, 9005??

Their will be an incredible initial cost for me to invest in the production, I am talking over $60,000. Price will be around $350 a set. If I can get at least 25 people to pre order I will have them ready in approx 6 weeks. Those that pre order will get them for around $300. Please respond to this thread with you comments. A poll is above please vote if you would be interested in them.
Thanks,

They will be made in Taiwan not Asia. Not sure what kind of projectors they will have but I promise you they will be top quality and have a great beam pattern.

The only reason I bring this up is because I've been hangin around the Accord Forums (have an Accord in the faminly now) and I heard bad things about the projectors that are made for the Hondas, mainly the pattern is useless. Good luck with the product.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Taiwan was in Asia?

Anyways, I'd strongly consider getting them.
