Charging or grounding problem
Today when I hit a bump my charging light and brake light both came on..... A call to Nissan reveals a bad alternator over the phone. Car steill runs alternator is less than a year old. Car was recently in an accident however engine bay shows no signs of a bad ground Any ideas?
Thanks

This is a classic sign of a LOOSE wire or connector.
I would check the impedance(ohms) of the ground on the alternator and the motor. If they are not the same.
Your looking for a high reading.. I would try and compare it to another max of the same year... If yours if over 1K higher than the other max I would look at that as being the problem.
Another thing is, after the "bump" is the lights always on?
If not just sometimes, as your checking your ohms have someone shake the car to see idf it changes.
Also a LOSSE realy or fuse could cause this. Poor conduction.
Check all your realys and fuses.
Hope this helps
