raced a 2002 gti vr6

i have a 96 automajic with CAI and muffler and a heavy system.
my friend has a 2002 stock 5-speed gti vr6. we were at a redlight and we took off and we both had wheel spin and he beat me by 1 and 1/2 car lengths.

thats wierd.. i raced my friends 2002 5spd GTI vr6 we were door to door

Interesting note here.. some 2002 GTI vr6's are made in Brazil and some are made in Germany.. my theory is that the German ones are 201 hp and the Brazil ones are the rated hp.. i am guessing that makes the discrepancy in the performance of the 2002's..

no offence Lime.. but i know if you raced my friends 2002 he would put multiple cars on you.. ask deezo.. he watched us race 5 times with the same result.. it being who ever got the jump.. the other person stayed that the other persons rear door

also my friend is an excellent manual tranny driver.. he goes through gears faster than anything..

The system might have something to do with it. Slow you down a bit.

some vr6 are the 24 valve making 200 hp, while some are 12 valve making 174hp. depends when they were built. vw sucks for always changing stuff mid year. mike

I would recommend getting that Tuneup done. It can make a nice difference.
