Re: How long did your oem 5 speed
My clutch was still good at 125,000 miles, but my bearings went bad

My stock clutch lasted me till 46k. I bought my car with 12k on it and I'm pretty sure the previous owner didn't drive it too hard. I put at least 40+ track runs on the clutch though, and I think I did too many back to back runs. Heat is definitely the enemy

I had a friend who had a car that had the stock clutch for 113,000 miles. After he had driven it for 1,000 miles (up to 114,000) he had beat the hell out of it and he broke it. If you baby it they can last for 100,000 +. But if you wanna have fun it will come at a cost .

OEM clutch
I am just over 111k with the OEM clutch and tranny. Still working fine, although I find I have to be practically stopped to get into first gear without grinding and sometimes I get a little clutch slippage when cold.

Re: OEM clutch
My suggestion to you, change your tranny fluid. Either MT-90 or Mobil 1 synthetic tranny fluid. Make sure it's 75W90 grade for our car. That will get rid of the 1st gear difficulties and mak shifing much smoother in all gears.

I bought my car, which was lady driven, with 30K miles. The car currently has 80K miles, 65+ 1/4 mile passes with lots of hard shifts that are close to powershifts. The clutch has never slipped on me. When it comes to change it out, it's gonna be a hard decision to get an ACT or stick with stock.
