Very expensive oil leaks
Well, today I took my Max into the dealer for a small oil leak next to the pan. Well I had already replaced the pan gasket and oil sending unit and it was still leaking. They told me it's the timing chain cover seal, that takes 13 hours of labor and $1300! Also the rear main seal is leaking a bit ($700). The car has 83,000 miles. Doesn't this seem kind of early for such leaks? Anyone had these jobs done?
I searched through the archives, but it didn't look like anyone actually had it repaired.
PS: Do these cars have metal head gaskets?
