I am past due on the maintenance. Can anyone tell me the average time it takes to replace the following parts? Thanks!

1. Spark plugs
2. Fuel Filter
3. PCV Valve
4. Compressor Belt
5. Power Steering Belt

1. Spark Plugs-half hour. Pretty simple but you will need a 12"
extension for the socket.
2. Fuel Filter-half hour (without problems). This could be the
most time consuming if you have difficulties removing the
hoses from the old filter. They usually are stuck and the
filter is difficult to reach. It is WAY easier to reach if you remove the
intake section between the airbox and throttle body. This is
also the perfect time to replace the air filter (which you
didn't mention) while you have it apart.
3. PCV Valve-five minutes. Just check the direction of flow before
installing the new one. No-brainer.
4.& 5. Compressor and PS Belt-one hour. It only makes sense to do
both at the same time. Minor PITA because you can't easily reach
the lower pullies from above. You will probably need to remove the same
cover from the right wheelwell that you would to do an oil-change.

I would suggest a Haynes manual to you. Great instuctions with good pictures.

These are times it normally takes me to do the individual jobs including getting my tools, installing the part, and cleanig up. If you plan to do everything you mentioned at once it should take less time overall.

The Maxima is the easiest car to maintain I have ever seen. Everthing you need to replace regularly is very easy to reach (except the fuel filter) and I applaud Nissan for engineering it this way.

Good Luck...

Fuel Filter is a b*tch

I just changed out the plugs and FF yesterday. Plugs are a snap as long as you have a Loongggg extension.

The Fuel filter was a HUGE pain. Definatly remove the airbox/MAFS. Just loosen the 2 huge hose clamps, unhook the filter clips (4), and pop off the 3 hoses.
