Installed my GReddy Catback Today...

I installed the GReddy Catback on my Maxima today. I'm very pleased with it so far (although I've only had it for a couple hours). The sound is awesome. It's a nice deep growl, but so much nicer than all the rice-boy Civic mufflers. I think that it sounds best between 2000-2500rpm. I don't even have a Y-pipe yet (soon), and I'm happy. It's a lot quieter than I thought it was gonna be, but I guess when I get the Y-pipe it'll be louder.

<--- me as I step on the gas pedal.

Later,
-Nick

With the y-pipe it will be a lot louder. I have a custom pipe from the cat to the muffler. My cat has also been gutted. My car was very loud! The flex joint in the y-pipe leaked so I had to put on a stock pipe for now. It's so quiet compared to before. The exhaust note isn't even noticeable until it get's warmed up. I miss my pipe! Not to mention the loss of performance. I used to be able to pull pretty hard on my friends 89 Mustang 5.0. with cat-back. Now he pulls on me hard. I can't wait to get my y-pipe back!

I recieved my Greddy cat back about 2 months after I ordered it which it pretty good concidering how long other people have been waiting. I installed it a few months ago and just wait about a month till you break it in and it sounds louder you will enjoy it even more.

No its not that loud unless your cruising at like 2.5 or 3k RPM's. Its not ricey, but the best way for my to describe it that it will sound like a quiet mustang. Also a little louder if you have a y-pipe.

I have the Cattman Y-pipe. I'm still waiting to see if Mr. Catts is going to fix it. He already refused even though it's under warrantee because he said he doesn't even touch the jet-hot coated pipes anymore and only deels with the SS. I sent him an email explaining just how displeased I was and how he needs to stand behind his projects. Still waiting to here back!

I got my GReddy catback system about 3 years ago. I added a Cattman SS Y-pipe about 6 months ago. At idle, it purrrrrs. At cruise, it's quiet. At WOT (wide open throttle), it wails! And it's a deep growl, not a high-pitched, bees in a can sound. It's very intimidating when you want it to be, and it's very quiet when you want it to be. The volume control is under your right foot...

I noticed a slight improvement to high-end acceleration with the catback. I noticed a big difference in acceleration when I added the Y-pipe. Best improvement comes with all the family members ready to pull together: hi-flow intake, y-pipe, R/T cat, GReddy Catback system. (The stock pipe diameter is 2.25 or 2.5, I think.) Good luck.

RedMax95: Didn't get around to doing the mesh yet. I keep putting it on hold. I'll do it eventually...probably not this weekend, but next weekend.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

bullseye: That's the exact setup that I'm planning on going with. I currently only have the Stillen Hi Flow Intake and GReddy Catback Exhaust System. I'll eventually add the Cattman SS Y-pipe and RT Cat, but I need more money first.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

The exhaust is great. The more I drive it, the more I love it. Sometimes, I don't think that it's loud enough, but that'll change once I get the Y-pipe.

My Check Engine Light keeps coming on since I got the exhaust. So far it has done it twice, but it'll probably do it again. Anyway, it keeps giving me code 0505 -- all clear. So I keep resetting the light, and than it comes back on after a little while of driving. I reset it when I got home from school, and again when I got home from work.

-Nick
