If the wheels are clear coated, use a clear coat paint cleaner or even a clay bar. If there just polished aluminum, they you need aluminum polish. Mothers makes a good one, comes in a red container. It's a paste that you rub into your aluminum and it polishes it up nice.

when i had my 17" Monsoons i used Mothers Mag/Aluminum Polish on them all the time, made the finish last an extra season, but then it started to flake off on one rim ONLY.
I have no worries now cause i dont have a polished lip or a lip, lol
