Dual exhaust

i was going to get dual exhaust on my 96 max, but when i went in to get it done they told me there was a computer box in the way that shouldnt get too hot. i have seen the maxs on the .org that have dual so i was wondering if u had the same problem and what u did about it. if the guy is b/s than ill go down and straightin him out. also, how does the dual sound as opposed to the single? any difference in noise or performance? thanks

The "black box" is the charcoal canister. It is part of the evaporative emissions system. It can be moved but you'll have to extend the wires and hoses to it. It shouldn't be mounted near the exhaust or anywhere it can be damaged by bottoming out. If it cracks or is damaged it will set an engine code and illuminate your MIL. And they aren't cheap to replace.
