Removed pin stripes and shaved nissan off trunk..

Last week I finally got around to peeling the gold pinstripes off my black 96 SE (I bought it used and it apparently had the gold option). A few days later I got around to washing and waxing the car. While I was at it, I took off the Volvo dealer logo that was on the trunk, and took off the nissan logo too, so it's just the maxima now.

For those that are interested, after the wash and wax, it was nearly impossible to tell there had been pinstripes on the car, or a nissan emblem on the trunk. If you look really close at the car, you can see a slight difference in the paint, but I knew what I was looking for. My dad was surprised cause he figured it'd be easy to tell since they hadn't been exposed to 5-6 years of wear.

BTW, does anyone know of a way to remove the gold plating off the metal parts of the car?

you would have to replace the parts from a non gold edition max and While your at it get some clear corners, tints and drop that sucker. Your like a kite.

I'm hoping to do all those things. Clear's are probably gonna happen first cause I dont have much money right now. I'm gonna do 35% tint all around (MA legal limit) and hopefully get some KYB AGX's and springs to drop it about an inch.

You have any idea how much new emblems would cost?

How hard was it to remove the pinstripes? What did you do/use?

The car looks real clean...time for the clear corners!
Let me know if you'd be interested in buying some regular (not diamond cut) ones...

Thanks. Pinstripes came off pretty easily. I used a hairdryer and had a little piece of plastic to get it started. Once you can grab the pinstripe with you fingers, you can just peel it off in strips. Mine left some glue behind on the car, which wasn't on really well (I could scrape it off with my fingernail). We had a can of Ford tar/sap remover stuff lying around, and that took the glue without a problem. I waxed the car afterwards and that helped everything blend together.

I haven't decided if i want regular or diamond corners yet..you can PM me your price if you want though.
