4TH Gen Autotragic dyno
Ok I want to know Who has dynoed their Autotragic's and what Hp and TQ ratings you got, also what gear where you in when the dyno was done, IE 3rd or 4th, I want something to compare to b/c not many people have dynoed their auto's so anyone that has post your #'s and what mods you had when you had it done.
So Far I am at 150 hp and 167 ft/lbs with CAI, GReddy sp and Rt Cat, I will also have my car dynoed tommorow after about a couple weeks with the warpspeed y-pipe on also the oil was changed last week too. I will post the new #'s tommorrow.

dyno after warpspeed y-pipe
aight i got my car dynoed again this morning and my best run out of 4 was, 167 hp and 195 ft/lbs, i gained 17 hp and 28 ft/lbs, I am very happy with the improved hp and very surprised with the TQ, but I still think somethin is wrong with my car and as soon as i get some money im gonna do a compression test, let me know if anyone has done this and how much it costs.

Even though I only dynoed 164hp, you have to look at the HP curve, You'll notice that with mods you have more horsepower all through out the power curve.
From looking at the two graphs (estimating):
RPMS : Stock : Mod
4000 : 123 : 130
4200 : 128 : 136
4400 : 132 : 144
4600 : 136 : 151
4800 : 141 : 157
5000 : 146 : 163
5200 : 150 : 163
5400 : 145 : 161
5600 : 142 : 159
5800 : 136 : 156
6000 : 125 : 148
If you look at the curve after peak horsepower, you'll notice that the with the mods you hold your horsepower, and don't loose power as quickly.

well, "I" think I have a "factory freak".... but who knows...
and remember there will always be faster/more HP cars than yours..
that's why we mod, right?? to improve and get bigger/better numbers

I think that is pretty low for a 5 spd with a CAI/Y-pipe/cat/catback?
I think I should be somewhere else on the chart. I was looking at yours and I was almost line for line with your car. Mine was done in 3rd and I topped out at 173@182lbs. I think I need to redo it.

Dang Guido, your torque curves are way different than mine. Your torque starts off good at 3400rpms (175fwtq), but then it falls into the 165fwtq range from 3800rpms until 4600rpms and then begins to drop. Your HP falls off at 5200rpms too. My torque curve stays at 170fwtq+ from 2200rpms (start of the run) until 5800rpms and then starts to fall. Peak tq (193fwtq) occurs at 4400rpms. I hope that Y-pipe made a big difference in torque for your car. YOU ALSO NEED AN INTAKE!!! You need to get that thing to breath better up top.
We'll see how she does at the dyno on Sunday.

Re: dyno after warpspeed y-pipe
Didn't anyone else notice this? That's more torque than any bolt on 4th gen I've ever seen, auto OR 5 speed. Whats the deal...?

I think it might be when they started the computer, if they hit the gas and the button to start the reading at the same time, then the computer can't balance itself out?

I don't understand how or why auto manufacturers are allowed to post horsepower and torque numbers as they do today. I'm not sure if they all do it: maybe someone on this site knows. I've read F*rd does it with their M*stang. Since 1971 or 1972 manufacturers were required to measure figures at the wheels so "gross" HP numbers from years before became "net" HP numbers and of course figures were much lower as a result. My '72 Olds 442 had a "net" rating of 270 HP: maybe i should start telling everyone that it's 340 HP, which was it's "gross" rating in '71. Now i'm finding out that my autocrapic Maxima only has 150-160 HP at the wheels? Big whoop!

By the way your pic links don't work, you can't link it to your local drive, you need a server.
