I am going to have a mechanic friend help me drain and replace my Auto Transmission fluid. I don't care about using synthetic, but my question is if it matters what kind of transmission fluid I use? He works at a Ford dealer so can just use what they have (maybe Mercon?) - if that is OK for the Max. Any ideas?

I'm using Mobil 1 synthetic.

Pennzoil Synthetic blend transmission fluid in mine. Shifts great.

Use Nissanmatic or Dexorn 3. That's what the owner's manual states.
